Goofin’ with the D-O-G…

September 29th, 2007 jmonsters 2 comments

9-29-2007 1-12-08 PMIt was a lazy day, Daddy’s jet lag seemed to rub off on the entire family. Fancee didn’t understand everyone’s lethargic behavior and molested everyone that came in contact with the floor. Daddy decide to take a few candid shots, so Smallmonster followed suit with his own photo shoot.

We did a little shopping for the new refrigerator and washers and dryers. The jmonsters “put up” with appliance shopping for the most part. There was a little running and racing up and down the aisles of Lowes, that was quickly squashed when they decided to wrestle on the floor.

We spent the rest of the day watching the tube, specifically SU’s loss to Miami – Ohio. It was deemed to be a dinner and a movie night. Mommy made Chicken Pot Pie, and we rented TMNT – Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Daddy just about made it the ending credits, and Fancee did get a walk from Mommy – her interest in TMNT was a little less than the rest of us. To bed by 8:30 for tomorrow’s fun-filled activities and Mommy’s birthday…

More tunnels…

February 17th, 2007 jmonsters No comments

2-17-2007 11-03-49 AMThe expert tunnel maker was at it again. Daddy took the jmonsters out to do some tunneling and driveway grooming. The driveway took a little precedent and Daddy was reminded by the jmonsters that his tunneling skills were suspect. After a disgruntled “What – Ever” and a “Dig it yourself”, Mommy came to the rescue.

Daddy wandered off to do battle with the ice that has encrusted the edges of the driveway. In a matter of moments Mommy came back and a curved tunnel was dug that connected the front walk to the sidewalk to the road. The Smallmonster thought that was pretty neat while Tallmonster immediately laid claim to it and forbade his brother from entering. This lead to Tallmonster being reprimanded and banished to the ruins of the first tunnel, out back. Daddy shook his head and kept chopping at the driveway.

2-17-2007 11-01-25 AMMommy had her next tunneling vision that was a three way that connected the driveway, front sidewalk, and the sidewalk to the house. Such a terrific undertaking persuaded daddy to help and lend his back to the project. Mommy with her expert chipping and Daddy’s help in cleaning up the left overs the tunnel was completed on time and under budget. The Boston officials may want to enlist Mommy’s help with any future ideas of traffic tunnels.

Soon the jmonsters were coming and going in a variety of traffic patterns. Daddy even got on his belly and crawled through a couple of times. Mommy reminded everyone that she does not climb through tunnels she only builds them. After everyone had made it through a couple of times pausing for photo-op’s, we grabbed Fancee Dancee Sandee and made her go through, back and forth. The jmonsters even got her to sit on top of the snow mound while they played king of the hill.

Not sure what will be next on Mommy’s list…

Grandma in Florida spread some Christmas cheer and got the D-O-G a gift. Sandee luvs her new bed, and spends all non-waking moments on it. So when she’s not wrestling with Tall monster, sharing a story with Small monster, or chasing rabbits around the backyard she is laying like a princess on her new bed.

Christmas Day…

The jmonsters were up at 5:30 am, wiping the visions of sugar plums from their eyes. Mom and Dad arrived Christmas Eve on schedule. We stayed up visiting until 1:30 in the morning, so it took a lot of coffee to get any type of vision into our eyes.

We tortured the jmonsters as long as we could making sure beds were made, teeth were brushed, and coffee was made. After desperate pleading we relented and allowed them down stairs in order to start the pandemonium. The gifts were bountiful, and it took a good three hours to make it through the stack of presents. Some of the hits this year were Robosapien, Matchboxes Ice Mountain, Bulls Eye Ball, and ZipZaps.

The downstairs turned into a huge play arena, every square inch was covered with discarded wrapping paper, half put together toys, cardboard boxes, and wrappers of every description. Even Fancy, Dancy Sandee received a Christmas bone. Although we question if there was a mix up with the naughty and nice list. Later in the morning Mom and Dad C. arrived and shortly after Grandma in Greene, Uncle John, Kathy, Nichol, and their puppy Trina. We had a champagne brunch, and finished the good eats with Grandma's chocolate cake and even more gifts.

This was one of the best Christmases ever!

Christmas Cards…

We tried to get the picture for the annual Christmas card this year. Sticking with tradition we placed the jmonsters in front of the tree with the d-o-g. Well, Small monster has his usual creeping crude for the winter, and he wonders why we call him booger? You can see how pathetic he looks and he wasn’t in the cooperative frame of mind for showing Christmas spirit. Daddy wasn’t home on the first try so nobody was crying and looking frightened. Tall monster is quickly becoming to cool for family photos and thinks his parents are square and can’t believe that we would bother him for such trivial things. When he does relent, it’s a battle because he feels every photo should reflect him being a goof.

We finally got every one to sit, smile, and look at the camera at the same time. The dog’s eyeball came out metallic green, nice. After numerous times of trying to fix it with the computer, each attempt made her look as though she was seriously deformed, we gave up. Beth is currently taking a black magic marker to all of the Christmas postcards and doing a touch up by hand, modern technology at its best. So depending whether you get a dog with a funny looking eye or one that the dog appears possessed will tell you were in the stack of cards.

Up to camp…

We went up to Bill & AM’s camp for some well deserved R&R from an action packed weekend. The jmonsters had a blast, and Sandee really enjoyed it as well.

The jmonsters spent the two days playing with Reilly & Liam with the activities including crayfishing, swimming, water ballooning, squirt gunning, fishing, and boating.

Tall monster enjoyed the boating most of all; he really enjoyed sitting in the bow of the boat and bouncing around with the waves. Small monster says the most fun of the trip was swimming in the slip with his buddy Liam.

Mom and Dad just plain enjoyed being away from it all and enjoying some good friends at the most beautiful place in NY.
